It might be time to consider a new closer.
The never-say-die Mets would have finished this road trip
6-0 had there not been two Frank Francisco meltdowns against the Marlins.
The Mets mounted yet another comeback on Sunday, with Justin
Turner wearing out Marlins closer Heath Bell before smacking a two-out, two-run
double in the top of the ninth.
Alas, in the bottom of the ninth, Francisco allowed a
lead-off triple – never a good thing – and things got worse from there. It
ended with Manny Acosta serving up a walk-off grand slam to the player formerly
known as Mike Stanton.
The brought out sheepish Gnome of Defeat, who knows he has
no business seeing the light of day today.

I didn't see today's game, which is probably fortunate.
Frank Francisco should be pitching mop-up duty, since Sandy Alderson will never admit he made a mistake by signing him. Major league pitchers cannot have a meltdown just because they don't like an umpire's ball/strike calls.
Manny Acosta should get a one-way ticket to Buffalo or parts unknown. There has to be someone better (Josh Edgin?) who could take his spot on the roster.
